## Carmistin The Food Company opens in Romania its third BIO broiler chicken farm, continuing its investments in developing the organic food segment and its own production in the premium category. Located in Săhăteni commune, Buzău county, the new farm consists of 12 mobile shelters situated in the heart of nature. The system allows the birds outdoor access for nearly the entire day, ensuring the specific conditions of organic agriculture.

The opening of the new farm marks a new stage in the strategy announced by the company in 2023, following the inauguration of the first BIO chicken farm in Romania in Leleasca commune, Olt county.

BIO broiler chicken production is integrated into Carmistin’s business model, with the company controlling all essential stages of the production chain: from organically cultivated land to the production of BIO feed in its own factory. Such a premium product is also distinguished by several other characteristics: the birds benefit from low stocking density, raw materials are non-GMO, and no antibiotics or synthetic additives are used during the rearing process. The birds grow slowly in natural conditions, with a minimum slaughter age of 71 days.

“Carmistin Group’s investments in BIO production come in a context where consumers are increasingly informed and attentive to the origin of food and how it is produced. People are looking for good quality, minimally processed food from producers concerned about animal welfare and how they produce food. The development of the La Provincia BIO segment responds to this shift in consumer behavior, and the new farm in Săhăteni is another step in this direction and in the long-term development of organic food production,” states Andrei Brumaru, CEO of Carmistin The Food Company.

Along with BIO Chicken, the La Provincia portfolio also includes BIO Eggs, sourced from free-range birds fed exclusively with feed obtained from Carmistin’s own organic farming. The company will continue to expand its organic food category through the progressive growth of chicken and egg production.
